Best. Campaign. Video. Ever.

The kids were running for president of our house today, so they each made a short campaign video. After watching them, I was torn.

Hers is really cute, right?
But his, his is a work of art. It's like a paranoid conspiracy theorist's campaign video/Blair Witch redo. I mean, I'm in love with this.
Voting was a tough decision. Even though I loved the little guy's video, I support the little girl's anti-fussing platform. Luckily, I was allowed to vote for both of them! Hooray Democracy?

Chicken Run!

To cap off yet another rainy day (soooooo ready for some sunshine), we watched Chicken Run after dinner. I love the way the little guy laughs when something strikes him as funny, and I managed to catch it on video!
My second favorite part of this is the baby's reaction to her brother's laughter... or lack of reaction.

Thunderstorm!

There was a thunderstorm this evening, and ever since the Jeep caught on fire we've all been a little jumpy around thunder and lightening.

Playground!

The weather was beautiful today, and I am exhausted. (I ran six miles, volunteered at a 5k, and mowed the lawn-- my poor legs!) I did manage to wander to the playground with the kids after dinner, though. We had the place to ourselves, and it was lovely.

The little guy took this video-- try to ignore his heavy breathing. We had a great time!

Puppet Show

The little guy wanted me to film the puppet show he put on tonight. I think the baby kind of stole the show.

ROAR!!!

Eric interviewed a dog-sitter the other night, and here's what the kiddos did while she was around:
The little dude has discovered the tripod, and it's made him even more ridiculous. We had four separate videos like this one on the camera that evening.

What a Show!

The little guy insisted on putting on a show before we could eat breakfast this morning, which is why you hear the baby protesting so loudly during the video.
He's such a ham!

In other news, poor Beau isn't doing as well as we'd like him to, so our vet asked me to listen to his heartbeat with a stethoscope and report what I heard (like I know what I'm doing...). It turns out that we do have a stethoscope!

More Videos!

The little guy took four videos today, and this is my favorite. I'm impressed with the baby's patience. (Speaking of, we should probably stop calling her the baby.)
With our new morning routine, the kids have a bit of time to play before leaving for school. I just let them wander around and have free play. It's actually been really nice to have a little calm time before leaving the house every day.

Documentarian

The little guy started taking videos of everything a couple of weeks ago. I mean everything, by the way. Diaper changes, cooking, laundry, getting ready for school, reading the paper... it's all in these random, shaky, under-a-minute video clips. See?
The nice part is that we'll always know exactly what our lives looked like in May and June of 2014.

Explanation

This one is from a few days ago, but here's the little guy explaining all about our bean sprouts:

Pet Sounds?

The baby is talking up a storm! It's SO MUCH FUN!! Listen to her do a bunch of animal sounds:
She can also say apple, more milk, please, thank you, bye-bye daddy, NO, no, NoNoNoNoNo, and Beau (among others). She's a complete mimic. I'd forgotten how much I enjoyed watching the original booger learn to talk.

Speaking of, here's a video of the two of them playing Ring Around the Rosie in the kitchen. She just learned it at school-- and I can add "Down" to the list of words she can say.

Beau-Beau

Poor Beauregard has 10,000 nicknames-- we call him Beau, Beau-zy, Boses, Beau-zy Schmoe-zy, Boses Smoses, etc. The baby calls him Beau-Beau, which is adorable. Here's a video of him waiting so, so, so very patiently. (And all for naught.) Poor pup.

Radioactive

Two things:

1. Eric has been driving the kids to and from daycare, meaning that he is entirely in charge of the music they are listening to.
2. Eric was alone with the kids tonight, so this amazing video happened on his watch.

Puppet Show!

Some nights, the little guy puts on a bedtime puppet show. They are always completely hilarious and bizarre. Here's one act (of three) from tonight:

Mr. Southie: Hey! My name is Mr. Southie!

Me: Your name is Mr. Southie?

Mr. Southie: Yeah. Southie is my first name, and Mister is my middle name, and Griff is my last one!

Me: Oh. Well it's nice to meet you Mr. Southie. Can you sing a song?

Mr. Southie: Well, my mom can but I can't.

Me: Oh yeah?

Mr. Southie: I can't sing any, but-- I just can sing Away in a Manger, but I won't do it right now. Bye!

Me: Bye.

Tis (Almost) the Season

The little guy is singing in a choir at church in a couple of weeks (I'm so excited!!), and we've been practicing his songs at home. He was showing me the hand motions to Away in a Manger last night at dinner… and it was hilarious and wonderful and even kind of dangerous!

Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba

The baby is talking a bit-- she says Mama and Dada and up. She also points and grunts like a champ. The other thing she does is say ba-ba-ba-ba by moving her tongue from side to side outside her mouth. See?

That child.

The Angriest Ladybug

The little guy said "I'm the angriest ladybug" tonight. Eric replied "That strikes fear into everyone's hearts." Ha!

Anyway, at dinner the little guy showed off his latest talent. Not only can he wink like a see-saw, but he actually has the best winks. See?

Oh no!

The little guy has been snatching things from the baby for months now. He likes the "share" his toys with her-- which means letting her look at them from a few feet away.

Too bad for him she can move now! 

She also likes to blow raspberries on people. It's gross.

Scootching

The baby can turn herself around and she's trying to crawl. She kicks her legs in the air and looks at stuff intently... it's kind of hilarious. Anyway, here's a video of her trying to get somewhere until the little guy and the dog decided to join her.

Silly Games

Any time Eric plays a game on the iPad, the little dude asks if he's playing his silly game. Well, look who has a silly game of his own!

I had just wiped off the table from breakfast. That's why it looks so yucky, I promise!
