European!

The little guy gives awesome hugs and squeezes these days. He's also taken to kissing us goodnight once on each cheek. He's so sophisticated!

Bath Time

The little guy can't decide if he likes baths or not. Either way, he definitely likes taking off his clothes. He can dress and undress himself (for the most part), but goodness it takes a long time. I like to think I don't get exasperated with him, but the other day he was putting his shoes on and he said to himself "Go-oo-oo-od Lord! I need to hustle." Whoops.

Lazy Boys

Here's a quick picture of my boys being lazy the other day.
What a big pile of snuggle!

Showoff

Look at the little dude putting the final block on the MOST AMAZING TOWER EVER! His dad is a total showoff.
Here's a video of him knocking it over. What goobers.

T-R-O-U-B-L-E

The little kiddo usually minds his manners and most of the reports that come home from daycare are of a cheerful little guy, especially Kindermusik. Todays came back, though, and said the stinker had lost his fork privileges during lunch.  I can easily see him beating the table with his silverware like it's a drum, and I hope that is what got him in trouble.

Come to think of it, I really hope that the losing utensil privileges happens quickly, like before someone get a fork stuck in the back of their hand.  I would love to see the "your child isn't a monster" spin on that incident report!

Here is the boy eating some Valentine's Day candy.  He has the patience of his mother, by the way.  (A-one... a-two... a-three... CRUNCH!)  The shirt says it all about this one.

Stinker

I built a tower out of blocks tonight that was taller than the little guy. It was amazing! By the time I took its picture, though, it looked like this:

Spring Football!

It was an absolutely gorgeous day, so we went outside to toss a football around before dinner.
He's pretty good at throwing, but his catching could use a little work. We've got time...

Three Outtakes

1. The little dude can mostly dress himself, but sometimes it takes a few tries to get it right. He is adamant that he get NO HELP AT ALL, thankyouverymuch.
2. I didn't think the little guy was smiling, so I made a terrible face for the camera. Of course, the little stinkpot looks adorable and I look ridiculously bad.
3. Here's the photo Eric took when I asked him to get one of the little guy and me kneading some pizza dough the other day:
So... Happy Shrove Tuesday! I hope your pancakes were yummy!!

Backhoes!

The little booger is becoming quite the artist these days. Here is a really blurry photo of him showing you the backhoe that he drew. (There's construction near his daycare, so seeing a backhoe is almost a daily occurrence.)
Here's a closeup of the backhoe. It's the thing on the right-- the triangle with two wheels. Pretty amazing resemblance, right? We've come a long way from the snake-helicopter.

Kick It!

Eric builds amazing towers out of blocks. The little dude puts the same capstoneblock on each tower once it's done. Here's the blue triangle that tops all the towers:
Once the tower is finished, the little stinker kicks it and knocks it down. They can do this for hours.

Basketball Game

We took the little guy to a WVU women's basketball game today (check us out-- doing something new!).
The little dude was clapping and cheering with the best of them! He even had a bite of my hot pretzel.
We'll definitely go to more games. It was a really, really nice afternoon.

Singing!

The little guy sings all the time. My favorite is when he wails on his xylophone while singing. It always makes me think of the SNL skit More Cowbell.
Also-- I love this kid's fashion sense. A t-shirt, undies, camo-print crocs, and a hard hat. What else do you need?

In other news, my darling husband has been totally showing me up with his ridiculously awesome train tracks. Check this out!
What a jerk.

Wow!

I gave the little booger the Toys R Us insert to keep him occupied before breakfast on Sunday. He gasped and said "Woah! Wow! Look at that! Wow!" because there was a picture of a PLAYGROUND on the front. "Look, Mommy-- a PLAYGROUND!!!" Fortunately he was distracted by milk. Phew!

Que hora es?

With all the pictures we take to keep this blog populated we decide it might be nice to compile a bunch of them into a "yearbook" of our family (from My Publisher).  It's a pretty cool thing and the boy loves to look through it and name all the people.  He says, "I wanna see My book."  He made me get it tonight and sit on the couch to thumb through it.

About half way through I was going to ask the Booger's mom what time it was but I asked him instead for some unknown reason.  (We got rid of our cable so there isn't a clock in the living room anymore which makes for a lot of asking the time.)  So I asked him the time and without hesitation he said, "45!"  I looked at his mom and we both just laughed at his completely misplaced confidence.  I knew it was getting close to bath time so I found a clock and, wouldn't you know it, it was 6:45.  Now who's laughing?

Here's a cute little picture of the kid from a professional photo shoot we had the other day.

More Snow!

It snowed a TON this weekend and this Florida girl was pumped to go outside and play! The little dude had a  blast sledding down our hill, although we did discover that we need a spotter by the road...
The little dude even pushed his daddy in the sled!
The best part about sledding is the epic naps that follow.

Tough Guy?

The little dude banged his knee today... and then he iced it.
He said it made it feel better, so that's good.

HOORAY!!!

We took the little guy to dinner at Outback tonight. He wore big boy underpants, so I had three changes of clothes with me and a wet bag. I'm so excited to report that he didn't have any accidents! He told us when he had to go and he used the potty at the restaurant. WAHOO!

Since I have no pictures of that, here he is playing with his very cool drill.
He even put the drill away! I'm relieved that we found it...

It's Hiding!

The little booger helped me make some chicken parmesan for dinner (yum). When I poured the spaghetti sauce all over the chicken, he said "It's hiding! The chicken is hiding!"

He did such a good job eating his dinner (two servings!) that he got to have some chocolate ice cream for dessert. It was a good night.

No!

The little dude says "No!" all the time. It's especially funny when he clearly doesn't mean it at all. Here he is before dinner tonight-- this is just after saying that he doesn't like apples.
He probably ate an entire apple while insisting (through a full mouth) that he doesn't like them. Ah, two-year-olds.

Destruction!

The little dude is usually, um, a tad overprotective of his floor mat. He cries and carries on whenever any little piece of it gets messed up (Fix it, mommy, fix it!). Well, apparently-- until tonight:
Now I'm feeling overprotective of the stupid floor mat. What a mess!

Count M&M-cula

We are using M&Ms to reward the little guy for using the potty (one for number one, two for number two, three if he does both). It's been working, which is great, but you know how Count Dracula always has blood dripping down his chin? Well, it's kind of a chocolate and candy-coated version of that at our house these days.
I vant to... have some more chocolate!

Trash Day!

One of my favorite things (besides trains) is when the little guy brings me a stack of books for me to read him.
In other news, today is trash day in our neighborhood. Most Thursdays I get the little dude ready early so we have time to sit at the window and watch the garbage truck go by. They were running a little late today, so we actually walked past the truck on our way up the street.

Not only did we get to talk to real garbagemen, we got to see the truck back-part squish the trash. The little guy stared and waved and pointed and yelled "GARBAGE TRUCK!!! IT PICKS UP THE GARBAGE!!!! BIG TRUCK!!!! THEY PICKING UP THE TRASH!!!!" Garbagemen are rockstars to the little guy. They were super sweet about his excitement, too. It was a great start to the day.
