Our Little Boogers

Sharing our lives: two kids, two full-time jobs, one old house, and plenty of love and laughter. And baseball.

Fashion Plate?

The little booger looked really sharp for Easter...
... but then returned to normal with a creative shorts-over-sweats ensemble.
On the way home from our small group tonight, the little guy announced (out of the blue) "I don't see a bat." For some reason it really tickled our funny bones, so we spent a good part of the drive home discussing other things we weren't currently seeing-- such as elephants.

So Big!

Whenever we get home from a walk, the little dude likes to walk around to the back door all by himself.
His independent streak and his new haircut combine to make one big little two-year-old.
He got a sucker for sitting reasonably still at the barbershop.

Opening Day!

Hope your opening day was as good as Eric's was! Not only did he take the afternoon off to watch the Reds (and take his first baseball nap of the season), he had the joy of watching the little booger practice his baseball skills.

Down by the Bay?

The little booger asked for some watermelon last week. We didn't have any, but it was on sale at the grocery store this weekend so I bought a small one. I cut it up and took some outside-- he was so excited! And...
... it was pretty gross. It does seem a little early for watermelon. I guess it is.

Burrito!

Skippyjon Jones is a favorite around here, mostly because of the secret chihuahua password which is half-sneezed, half spoken ("Aaaa-aaaa-aaa-chupichu!"). In honor of those books, I've been making a burrito out of the little dude after bath time. It's a good way to dry him off and a nice way to sneak in a cuddle or two. Plus, I get to hear him say "I'm a Rito!"

Plumb Tuckered

Not that his cousin wore him out or anything...
... but the little guy tried to take a nap in Beau's crate during a break in play. On a related note, this "acting like a dog" business is getting ridiculous. On Saturday, he pooped at the park-- in the grass-- which was my lowest parenting moment to date.

Happy April Fool's Day!

We had a nice, prank-free day (so far). I got to hang out with the little guy and his older cousin all day yesterday-- at their request I drew an enormous train on the patio in chalk. Here are my two guys admiring it this evening:
