We went out for ice cream the evening before school started. I didn't get a good picture of the little guy (who got a chocolate milkshake), but I did get this one of the baby.
She's not really a baby anymore, though!
Our Little Boogers
Sharing our lives: two kids, two full-time jobs, one old house, and plenty of love and laughter. And baseball.

First Day!
Today the little guy started first grade! He had a good day at school, and it was so nice to see everyone again. We definitely didn't do as well as I'd hoped at keeping up with friends all summer.
Anyway, tonight we took some updated progress pictures of the house. It's almost all sided (yay!) and there is a bit of plumbing work!
The little guy and I climbed out the bedroom window to wander around the new upstairs. That was a fun adventure in and of itself.

Durham Bulls
We had the night off from baseball and softball, so we went to a baseball game! I think it's the last one of the season that we can make.

Siding!
I use way too many exclamation points, but we have siding! Look at all of that glorious siding! Look how awful the rest of our house looks in comparison!
I'll have pictures of the kids tomorrow.

Holes in the House
We have a hole in the house, but in a good way! The workers opened up the upstairs hallway today to allow for entrance into the master suite (so fancy). I had to move our towel shelf into the corner of our bedroom, and there was plaster dust all over the stairs when I got home, but it's still exciting to see all the progress!
The kids and I are having a relaxing evening home alone. Eric was out golfing with some of the guys at church. I think they had a wonderful time.
Despite appearances, the kids and I had a wonderful time, too.

Baseball!
The little guy tried out for baseball yesterday. His league is competative, and only about 2/3 of the six year olds were drafted. One of them was our little guy! Here he is getting a phone call from the coach of his new team.

House Stuff!
We had a busy week with tons of baseball (little dude) and softball (Eric). The poor baby fell off some low bleachers the night after slicing her leg on a parking barrier, so she looks like she's been beaten with a stick.
Anyway, while we were doing all of that stuff, the guys working on our house got it dried in! It's SO fun to walk around inside it and picture what it's going to look like. Here are some photos I took this afternoon.

Beach and Progress
We got to spend a few days at the beach-- the big guy found a dead horseshoe crab, which was pretty exciting.
Gramps turned the little one into a mermaid!
Our addition now has a roof and a staircase-- it's so exciting! I think the windows will be put in soon, and we're starting to think about bathroom fixtures.

We're Back!
The kids and I flew home yesterday by ourselves. The kids were wonderful! The funniest moment came when the little one asked (on the plane) if the seat-belts were for when we'd be upside-down. Ha! I hope not!
One of the fun things we got to do on our trip was go to the boardwalk at the Jersey Shore. There was some special going on that day, so the kids got unlimited rides. They had a blast!

Home Again
I got home last night, and it was great to hug everyone!
