O Christmas Tree

We took my parents to go pick out a Christmas tree at the same farm we went to last year. It was fun! The little guy is old enough to read all the cheesy Christmas jokes himself.
The baby had clothing on her lower half this year.
My mom had a nice time AND offered good advice on swag selection.
And my dad and the little dude only almost clotheslined one person with the measuring pole.
All in all, I'd say it was a huge success!

More Pizza!

We had a pizza picnic again tonight, and I ordered a large. We ate the whole thing (with help from my parents). The baby brought the empty box in and said "there's no more!"

Books, books, books

The kiddos love having books read to them. The best part about reading to them is that they snuggle!
What a happy Grandma!

Happy Easter!

We had a great weekend visiting with my parents, and capped it off with two church services this morning and a party this afternoon. The little guy dyed and decorated Easter eggs with Grandma before the party.
The baby enjoyed lots of cuddles with "Silly Guy Gramps" all weekend.
Happy Easter!

One more...

Here's one more picture of the snow. The poor little guy had puddles and balls of ice inside his little rain boots. He really doesn't need snow boots any more, but he could've used a pair last weekend!
For some reason I haven't taken any pictures this week. We'll get some over the weekend and be back on top of things soon.

Nana and Pops!

We had a great visit with Nana and Pops this weekend-- filled with snuggles, food, and books. No naps were taken, but that's ok!

Books with Gramps

The kids read a ton of books while we visited my family. Here's a cute shot of them reading (and watching tv) with Gramps. The baby likes to stick her face in your face to ask questions about whatever it is that you're reading. She's pretty silly.

Books, Books, Books!

For their birthdays, one of my uncles sent the kids nearly one thousand books. I think they read every single one with their Nana last weekend.
How sweet!

Birthday Girl!

The baby turned two today!
Her Nana and Pops came in to town and brought her a shopping cart full of plastic food. She was thrilled!
The little guy already has a cash register with a scale and play money. The two of them played grocery store until half an hour past their bedtime.

Guitar

My daddy bought me a guitar many years ago so I could learn to play... and I never have. It's nice to have the guitar, though, because he can play it when he visits. He let the kids help him play and sing a few songs the other night!

Marbles!

We went to Marbles Museum this morning with Grandma and Gramps. The kids had a BLAST. The adults did, too! Look Gramps and the kids built out of giant legos!

Playground!

The little guy 'rode' his big-boy bike to the playground today. Then he and his sister had a blast on the slide.
Here he is leaving on his bike. Up ahead you can see the baby zooming along with Gramps. Hooray family!

Nana and Pops

We had a great visit with Nana and Pops-- including some nice Mexican food!
There were a few football games on the tv at the restaurant. Nana taught the baby to say "TACKLE"-- so guess who's a football fan now!

Even More Baseball!

We went to a baseball game tonight-- it started at 5pm so we got to stay until the 8th inning (wow!). This picture basically sums it up.
Yay baseball! (Too bad our team was shut out.)

Nana and Pops!

We have some visitors this weekend… Nana and Pops! The kids snuggled with Pops to read last night...
… and snuggled with Nana to read more this morning.
Can't wait for tomorrow!

Fish Food

While we were visiting my parents, the little guy got to feed the fish! He's always disappointed that fish only eat once or twice a day. He loves feeding them!

Happy New Year!

We were supposed to come home New Year's Eve, but Eric was ridiculously ill and we postponed our flight. We didn't get home until 2am today, which is why I haven't posted in a few days. We may boycott all holidays next year-- our track record this year wasn't great.

While we were in Florida, we took the kids to Wakulla Springs. There were manatees (sooooo cool), alligators, vultures, anhingas, and all sorts of ducks.
Eric doesn't want the kids to swim here for some reason...
The baby wanted to climb off the boat, so she wasn't completely thrilled with the trip but she did pretty well.
The little guy was really into all the animals. He's old enough now to see what the park ranger points out. Exciting stuff!

Big Day!

We've been able to see one of the ferris wheels at the State Fair on our way to and from school for the past week and a half, and the little guy wanted to ride it as soon as we got to the fair. Eric took him… look how excited he was!
Look at how high up they got! The little white dot holding a baby is me with my heart in my throat. Nana and Pops were wildly amused at how freaked out I was.
I guess his last day being three was a good one!

Whew!

Well, we've moved... and the new place is starting to feel like it might be organized one day. Yay! Otherwise, things are just trucking along. The little guy continues to dress himself. Here he is on our way to dinner... it was 90 degrees outside, just so we're clear on how ridiculous this outfit was.
We dedicated the baby at church today and both sets of grandparents were able to come. It was really special. The baby enjoyed being passed from Gramps to Grandma to Nana to Pops and back again.
Both kids ended up taking long naps after everyone went home. It was a great week.
