Balance

The little guy is getting pretty good at riding his balance bike-- except he holds his legs out absurdly far.

We went around the entire block tonight, and eventually it was just too much for him. What a ham! Don't you love how completely unconcerned Beau is?

Dogs and Duckies

The little dude has been taking sleeping lessons from Sadie, apparently.

The corner on the landing is her sanctuary.

Here's what we found when we went up to bed last night:

He was in the hallway upstairs, waiting for Eric to get home (I think).

In other news, the little stinker has been asking for stuff by saying "Look! My computer says I can have poptarts for breakfast/more raisins/more orange juice/ice cream/etc." He holds up his little hand and points to an imaginary screen. Most of the time we say no, but sometimes it's so cute that he's hard to resist!

So Demanding

The little booger helped take the dogs out tonight. He really wanted to take Sadie, but he still doesn't weigh half of what she does, so he was stuck with Beau.

Should I say that Beau was stuck with him?

Pops is visiting tonight (yay!) and the little stinker wanted to play Candyland. Pops got to enjoy the experience of each of us taking three turns and then putting the board away. I don't know why he doesn't want to finish the game! He almost won this weekend, but put it away early. Goober.

Budding Photojournalist?

The little dude played with my umbrella today after work. He opened it himself and everything!

Then, of course, he got ahold of the camera and took pictures of tons of random things. He did get a great candid shot of Beau peeing on our (pitiful) hydrangea. Awesome, right? We should be so proud?

The little booger still loves taking pictures. He seems to be experimenting with close-ups right now.

Basketball!

I scored a kid-sized plastic basketball hoop at our neighborhood's garage sale for three bucks. The little booger LOVES it. Our neighbors gave him a little basketball, too, which was awesome. He's spending a lot of time outside shooting hoops!

Poor Beau is afraid of the hoop (and the potted plants, the grill, the chairs, the rabbit figurine, etc.), so his outside time is looking more like this these days:

She's on antibiotics and seems to be doing better today. She was supposed to fast all day, but she ate Eric's sandwich at lunchtime. Whoops!

No Idea

We didn't get any pictures of the little boog this weekend, so I searched back and found this unpublished photo:

I have no idea what he was doing when his momma took this picture but he is the goofiest little fella I know.  (I think he might not have anything on under that blanket!)  Granted, I don't know many 2 1/2 year olds, but this one is crazy.

In sad news, we are getting ready to take the big dog to the vet.  She's not been feeling well for a week and we are a little worried.  Why do the dogs always get bad during emergency hours?

Road Trip!

We cancelled our big weekend plans, but managed to sneak in a quick trip to a cousin's graduation party. We picked up the dogs on our way home. Whenever the five of us are in the car (and the trunk is full), I yield the front seat to Sadie.

The little booger hangs out in the back with me and Beau. He decided to stare at the ceiling every time he said cheese, so here's the best I could do:

Our Backyard

I love our backyard. We all do. The little guy can play-- basketball, baseball, or whatever else he wants. He can also just walk around with Beau.

Sadie likes to sit and sniff the air. She's also a giant goofball who likes to roll around in the grass (just not for the camera).

Eric and I get to play with the kid and the dogs. Or we can just relax and watch everyone being their ridiculous selves.

That is except for worrying about stupid snakes because this huge, disgusting, terrifying thing is sitting in our grass:

Way to ruin everything, nature. Nice job.

Two Peas

The little booger and Beau are turning into two peas in a pod.

Two peas in a pod full of danger, that is. Why can't the little guy copy our dogs' good habits? Habits like... um... well... that might explain everything.

Daylight Savings

I love daylight savings time. It's sooooo nice to have it be light out after dinner and into the evening. The little dude and Sadie took advantage tonight and watched the big kids across the street play basketball.

Note to self: Wash the windows!

Watch Out!

The little guy loves to play with the dogs... but they aren't always sure they want to play with him. Tonight, the little stinker wanted Beau to "Get him!" If Eric holds the little guy upside-down, Beau will usually come over and lick either his face or his belly. The little booger LOVES this game. See?

Dogs

The little guy played fetch with a very sweet dog (who belongs to some friends of ours) yesterday and they both had a blast. It made me kind of sad that our dogs don't fetch. I don't think it's affected their bonding with the little dude though.

This was taken while Eric and I were finishing up dinner-- which is before we let the dogs out of their crates.

Awwwwww

Beau and the little dude are really hitting if off these days. The little booger is always trying to pet Beau-- and he's actually petting him really gently! It's so sweet.

They are so cute together. Sadie keeps trying to play with the little guy. The problem is that when she wants to play she runs away from him and barks her fool head off. He doesn't really understand that, but I'm hoping they'll figure it out someday.

Our Little Prep?

Trick or Treat!

We had a wonderful (cold and rainy) Halloween. The little booger completed his pre-trick-or-treating warm-up on his scooter.

Then he went up and down a lot of our street with his dad and his Pops.

After that, he helped me hand out candy to other kids. He kept giving the kids his size two pieces while the bigger kids only got one. Hilarious.

And even though poor Sadie was inside and in her crate, she managed to get herself in a bit of a pickle...

(Yup, she put her head through a hole in her blanket. What a ridiculous dog.) All in all, it was a wonderful night. Happy Halloween!

Favorite Places

Sadie has found her new perch in our house. If she sits on the bottom stairs, she can keep an eye on the road without getting scolded for being on the furniture.

The little stinker has found his new favorite spot, too. His toy bin!

Dogs

No new pictures of the little stinker for today. Instead, here's an update on the dogs. Now that we have the little dude in the backseat and we don't want him to be trampled, I sit in the back with Beau and Sadie gets the front seat. Here she is enjoying all her extra space:
