Our Little Boogers

Sharing our lives: two kids, two full-time jobs, one old house, and plenty of love and laughter. And baseball.

And... it's almost gone!

We came home today to find the back room has been turned into a wildly unsafe deck!
I wish I'd had a camera on to capture the little guy's face as he first rounded the back corner of the house.
The only downside so far has been that our baseball/kickball field is now limited to the first base line. I don't want the kids running around in construction junk. Otherwise, it's just one exciting day after another!

Progress!

This is what we came home to on Friday:
All our kid pictures from the weekend are on Eric's phone, but I'll have some to post tomorrow. I'll also have even more pictures of demolition! Our builder thinks it'll take about two weeks to tear it all down.

Softball and the Beginning

We all went to Eric's softball game tonight. The kids had a picnic.
Also, demolition started this afternoon... It's all very exciting!
The top left is before, the other two are after!

Excitement!

At 7:30 this morning, a dumpster was delivered to our yard. We are so thrilled to be beautifying the neighborhood like this.
The kids were enthralled! They were excited to see the truck, but they also enjoyed looking into the dumpster from our bedroom window.

Champion!

I did it! The little guy's school laid out all the clothes in the lost and found (soooo many clothes). I went through almost all of it, but I found his fleece! It's been missing for months!!
I was pumped when I found it. He wasn't as excited, but that's ok!

Getting Started

We have permits!!
We also spent a lazy evening watching Danger Mouse.
They were sharing the pillow. It was kind of sweet.

Weekend Away

We are celebrating our tenth anniversary by spending a weekend in the mountains. It was supposed to be rainy and cold, but today was gorgeous! We hiked to a waterfall and visited an alpaca farm!
The baby keeps calling our condo "our new house," which has been cracking us up. I think she wants to stay!

Rainy Evening

It's been chilly and rainy here, and what better way to spend an evening than snuggled under a blanket reading books?
I'm looking forward to warmth again, though. It's May! It should be hot!!

Helpful Helpers

It was rainy all day today, so we had an inside night. The kids helped me make chocolate chip cookies. By helped, I mean they stood between me and the mixer and argued about who got to do what.
We had a good time (and the cookies turned out well).

Beautiful Evening

It was another beautiful evening tonight. I ran out of flour and trash bags, so we took a nice walk to the grocery store.
I love our neighborhood.

Sunday Snuggles

After a beautiful worship service and a bunch of errands, the kids and I snuggled up to watch an episode of Mighty Machines.
What sweethearts.

P.S. Happy 40th anniversary, grandma and gramps!!!

One on One

The baby and I went to the playground by ourselves tonight! It was nice to have some time alone with her.
She's completely absurd, and she loves her new sandals.

Story time

Eric entertained the kids with stories at the playground tonight.
So nerve wracking!
In other news, the last authorization came through for our addition!!

Playground!

Eric had a softball game tonight, so the kids and I had an open evening. We spent a full hour at the playground!
I can hardly believe they're old enough to go without a stroller or a diaper bag!

Excitement!

With all the rain lately, we seem to have developed a little ant problem. Eric went on the roof at bedtime to spray and inspect, but I think we are going to call an exterminator tomorrow.
The kids were wildly entertained seeing daddy out the window!

Dressing Herself

The not-really-a-baby insists on dressing herself. Here she is, checking the paper before heading out:

Relaxing Morning

This evening, I'm fondly remembering our relaxing Sunday morning (starting at 6am, so whatever).

Eric and I had a complete panic momentafternoon today when we thought we'd either have to (a) go have another variance hearing, or (b) redo the appraisal for the loan we already got. I think we've figured it out, though, and should be fine. Phew!

Getting Started!

We're waiting for the last two permits, and our builder has started dropping stuff off! This is what we found in the yard when we got home tonight.
Things are starting to happen!

Two kids and a truck

How do people get anything done without kids to help them? We rented a truck for an hour or so today to take the big things to storage.
The baby wants to buy a truck when she grows up. A cute little truck, in case you were wondering what kind.
